Article from The Monitor about my Reynosa experiences
I'm using the last minute of my 15 minutes of fame by self-promoting the article about my Reynosa experiences. It was in The Monitor, McAllen, Texas last Sunday.
Leslie - I would love to come and personally give you my autograph.
Barb - You are too kind. There were a few very minor inaccurate parts of the article like it was not a language school where I worked. It was a private bilingual school. But, unfortunately, the age is correct. I guess I could have lied, just like I did about my weight on my driver's license.
I taught 5th grade for 2 years in Mexico near the border of Texas. Unfortunately, gun battles, grenades, narco-blockades, and thieves ran me out of town. Then, by a twist of fate, I became the guardian to my orphaned nephews and moved to the safer, saner, and much colder state of Iowa.
This blog is about my life with my nephews, their cat Suki, my old Miss Daisy Dog who snores louder than me, and sometimes my former living on the edge life in Mexico and southern Texas.
Dude you're famous! Good article.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget about us little people! :) And can I have your autograph??? :)
ReplyDeleteThey lied about your age. No way you're 51.
ReplyDeleteCheryl - I liked it. I loved my son's comments.
